Anthilena G.

Founder of F.O.D.U

Anthilena saw with her own eyes what happened to many homeless dogs in Greece in 2004. In 2004 the Summer Olympic games were organised in Greece. The Greek government ordered communal garbage men to clean Athenian areas of stray dogs. Municipal employees caught as many stray dogs as they could catch. And threw them alive in garbage trucks that mechanically compress garbage..

Anthilena heard the dogs screaming, while they were compressed to their death.
She saw their blood dripping from the deadly machines.
A Dog Massacre in the cruellest way, all for the Olympic Games in 2004 …
Since she witnessed that, since that surreal & horrifying experience, she dedicated her whole life to stray, homeless dogs.
She could not stop putting into her car every homeless dog she encountered.
She spent all her own money, all her pension, everything she ever had, on taking care of Stray Dogs.
She rented a piece of land just outside the village Mantra, a town 30 km from Athens for the by then around 200 homeless dogs she had taken in.
